Irish Dancers

Reported by: Erin Tucker

10th grader Lydia Smith and 9th grader McKenna Goltry are Irish dancers from the Carols School of Irish Dance, and with Saint Patrick’s day right around the corner, for the next week leading up to Saint Patrick’s day they will be dancing at a number of places to spread the Irish cheer. Mrs. Jamie Smith said, a teacher here at the high school said, “they have been dancing at nursing homes, the American Legion, Wegmans, and schools throughout the district for this whole week. They are just looking to spread some Irish cheer, and they will be at 2300 degrees at CMOG on Thursday night with a live Irish band. On Friday they will be on WENY in the morning to start, and then they will go to six schools, Wegmans, the Bath VA, and some restaurants in the area. Saturday they do two nursing homes and the American Legion in Addison.” In July, the girls will be competing at the National Irish Dance competition in New Orleans, for any further information on their competition schedules and where and when you can go support them, see Mrs. Jamie Smith in the resource room.
