The way people read has changed over the years. Back then, people grew up reading with actual books in their hands, and today everything is pretty much online or on some form of technology. Not saying it is a bad thing because it’s not. The world is advancing and as a new generation, technology is like our calling. When asked what they prefer to read from, Jana Aiken, a junior, says, “I like online reading, I usually read from Wattpad which you can read from the app or on their website. My favorite genre would be romance.”

Over the years, a lot of different E-readers came into light, such as the Kindle, the Nook, the Kobo, and so on. A lot of people prefer using an e-reader because they believe reading is easier with it. They like that they can take a book anywhere and read a book one after another without having to go to a library or a store and request or buy a new one.

Mrs. Martinec, one of the librarians here at CPP High says, “I prefer paperback, that’s the way I grew up, I didn’t have other options like today. My kids like reading from their kindles more. I think kids prefer e-reading more because that’s what they grew up with and they are more comfortable reading that way.”
