The indoor track team swept the Section 4 Championships at Cornell University on Saturday, February 11. It was the seventh consecutive win for the boys and the fourth for the girls. The boys scored 160 points while the second place team, Binghamton, scored 114 points. The girls scored 153 points, winning by 62 points over the Horseheads girls.
The boys were lead by Kevin Moshier, who won both the 1000 meter run and the 1600 meter run. Quinn Nicholson won the 3200 and Dan Gahagan won the 600. The boy’s 3200 and 1600 meter relay teams also finished in first place.
On the girls’ side, Jessica Lawson won the 1000 and the 1500, while Cleo Baker won the 600 and Erin Tucker won the race walk.
Senior Emily Niu said, “it was great that everyone was able to come together and give their best effort so we could bring home both titles.”
The indoor track team will compete at State Qualifiers on Saturday, February 25 at Cornell University.
