In the midst of the busiest part of the year, it can be easy to forget, or purposely skip breakfast in order to save time. Although it may seem like an unimportant and redundant occurrence, there is a valid reason why everybody says that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Not only does eating breakfast allow you to gain energy for the upcoming day, but it also has a variety of health benefits including an improvement in classroom performance and weight control. However, these facts only apply when eating a healthy breakfast composed of foods that have nutritional value. If you decide to eat doughnuts every morning, then you can expect adverse health effects rather than helpful ones. Some other advantages from eating a healthy breakfast include better concentration in daily life, more strength to engage in physical activity, lower cholesterol levels, and having an altogether better mental state. Not to mention the large amounts of essential vitamins and minerals that are found in breakfast foods that contribute to your overall wellbeing. On the other hand, there are a number of side effects involved in skipping breakfast. If you don’t eat breakfast, there is a higher chance that you will snack throughout the rest of the day. This leads to all kinds of complications such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. With all this in mind, it is not a bad idea to find time in the morning to start your day right.
